The name of the neighbourhood comes from the description of the previous state of that part of town, cerris forest that spread on the south bank of the river Sava. Cerak is located above the Ibar highway and Kosutnjak, and is a continuation of the former village of Zarkovo.

With the construction and expansion of Cerak, this part of the city became richer in following settlements: Cerak Vinogradi and Cerak 2. The main street is Jablanicka Street. Considering the distance from the city center and the crowds that entails, Cerak is particularly interesting for family life. Combined with a good transport network, closeness to Kosutnjak and Ada and rich content for outdoor activities, Cerak aspires to become a favorite part for living among all those who are not fans of urban life in the big city.
