Dorcol National Theatre

The founder of the theater is Filip Gajic. The Serbian director, writer and actor sold his car, and invested that money into the renovation of an old house where the theater is located. Jana Milosavljevic, an actress, gave her full support. The Dorcol National Theater consists of two scenes - Kosmodrom and Manufaktura. This place is intended for people with specific sensibility, sincere theater enthusiasts that value art more than aesthetics and marketing. Thanks to the film worker Milorad Kalanja, the theater has received a lot of scenic requisites and furniture. When the neighbors found out that a cultural and artistic institution was being opened, they began to donate things that have enriched the interior.

The history of a house in which an independent theater is located is not known precisely. It is certain that Jews used to live here once. According to one story, they produced soap, and to the other, they made pottery.

The conceptual creators of the theater have a wish that the Dorcol National Theater remains clearly profiled, primarily as a theater scene. They refuse any compromise - only pure art is acceptable.
