The 16th International Harp Festival

The 16th International Harp Festival takes place in Belgrade in the organization of the Harp Association of Serbia

The 16th International Harp Festival under the slogan "Visoka moda - harfa (Le Haute couture - La Harpe)" takes place in Belgrade from 15th to 20th June. Beside concerts, workshops for young harpists will be held. Popularization of the harp, step out of cultural elitism and availability of culture to everyone are the mission of the festival organizers.

Imposing Belgrade Concert halls are the venues where festival will be held: The Russian House, Ceremonial hall of Matica iseljenika i Srba u regionu (Society of expatriates and Serbs in the region), the Museum of Science and Technology, Students Cultural Center, Collegium Hungaricum and Ceremonial hall of the Assembly of the city of Belgrade. Announced performances of local and foreign artists and awarded young talents are completely free.


The string quartet Mozaik and guest from Russia, harpist from Mariinsky Theatre and multiple winner on the most prestigious world competitions, Sofia Kiprskaya perform on the first day of the festival. Lenka Petrovic, Mina Marinkovic, Aleksandra Milanovic, guest from Switzerland Tarek Beswick, Tina Zerdin from Slovenia, Vesna Stankovic, Anastasia Razvalyaeva and Miklos Kornyei from Hungary, Katerina Englichova from the Chech Republic, Ljiljana Nestorovska, Ivana Pavlovic, Milena Stanisic, Milana Zaric, Sasa Mirkovic and Karolina Beter are the artists who will perform at the 16th International Harp Festival in Belgrade.

The performance of Tina Zerdin and Vesna Stankovic at the concert at Students Cultural Center is dedicated to an important jubilee - the celebration of 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Music Art. Vesna Stankovic will play a special violin - Guadagnini from 1752. The violin is considered national treasure and belongs to the Faculty of Music Art. Elegant way of making it and refined sound define the violin as a true rarity with priceless artistic value.

EFFE - Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe - is an initiative of the European Festivals Assocation. National experts, appointed by EFFE Hubs reaching out to festivals in each country, scored the applications and presented the findings to the International Jury which nominated the EFFE Label recipients - 46 festivals from West Balkan. The International Harp Festival in Belgrade received EFFE label 2017-2018. The Jury invited the winners to join common festival movement for peace, solidarity, art, artists and open conversations.
