Slobodan Trkulja and Balkanopolis will perform at the Sava Center on 25th November at 20:00. The occasion is marking twenty years of magnificent career and music full of life and love. The sound that moves the borders represents a tradition in a completely different edition that has already won Serbia, England and China, and the interest is growing with each new album. The new exciting sound and genre is characterized as a "modern tradition".

Slobodan Trkulja is one of our most talented artists. He was born on 29th May 1977 in Odzaci and since he was eleven he has been playing clarinet. By the age of fifteen, he had already mastered bagpipes, diple (a traditional woodwind musical instrument), kaval (a chromatic end-blown flute), frula (a musical instrument which resembles a medium sized flute) and acoustic guitar. The exceptional musician plays more than fifteen instruments, and the music he composes is a blend of traditional and contemporary melodies. Simultaneous use of bagpipes and rock guitars, tambura and drums, along with pop and rock rhythms together creates a powerful orchestral sound that extends from epic to lyrical. The "Modern Tradition of the Balkans" is a project that was designed ten years ago, which opened the door of the world music scene to Slobodan and his Balkanopolis.

He collaborated with world jazz and symphony orchestras, but also with soloists such as Marisa, Oleta Adams and Josipa Lisac. He has featured in numerous famous television shows. The biggest concert that marked the first twenty years of their career was certainly the one in Shanghai when, during the EXPO 2010, they represented Balkans to 30,000 people and set an official record of the attendance of this event. The next success outside the country was on BBC television, and the performance during the Eurovision Song Contest was watched by more than a hundred million viewers. The stage performance is designed to the smallest details, and specific costumes and hairstyles are recognizable symbols of Balkanopolis.
