The Book Fair entitled "Radost citanja" (Joy of Reading) is organized at the Belgrade Fair from 21st to 28th October. The special guest is the Kingdom of Morocco, while Nis was chosen as a visiting city. With numerous books of local and foreign authors, the audience of all generations will, during the seven days of the fair, in the rich programme, meet literature through various activities, promotions and presentations.
Eminent happening for the whole culture of Southeast Europe is also the most visited event with the longest tradition of existence. The International Belgrade Book Fair, the 63rd in a row, will present a variety of literature from all over Serbia and the whole world on more than 30,000 square meters. Considering the status of honorary guest, literature from the Kingdom of Morocco and its authors and academic citizens will be at the center of attention. Abdalah Busuf, Sana Shayari and Tahar Ben Jelloun will bring closer the most important works from their country, which is also the first Arab country guest at the Book Fair, to all the visitors.
This year's festival of written words, like every year, presents a unique opportunity to get to know your favourite authors as well as critics. Peter V. Brett from America, Valter Hugo Mãe from Portugal, Santiago Roncagliolo from Peru and Robert Simonisek from Slovenia are just some of the writers who are guests at the edition of 2018.
The Serbian programme will focus on dialogue through debates and exhibitions that will mark important anniversaries. This year marks 200 years since the publication of Vukov rjecnik, 150 years since the birth of Mihailo Petrovic Alas, 125 years since the birth of Milos Crnjanski and 120 years since the birth of a unique Desanka Maksimovic. At the same time, the 49th Education and Training Fair will be held at the fair as well as the "Media Market", Information, Communication and Marketing Fair.
