The Student Cultural Center was founded in 1968 by the joint efforts of the Belgrade University and the University Board of the Student Association of Belgrade with the aim of improving the communication of cultural character among the students of the Belgrade University. The official opening took place on April 3, 1971. The students' day celebrating April 4th was immediately in the center's activity calendar.
