The hottest and officially the last month, when the sun inexorably heats Belgrade's streets, has arrived. This is a period when everything flows with a slow paced rhythm and it seems like no one is hurrying anywhere. A large number of inhabitants of Belgrade deals with the topic of all topics - where to go on vacation. Those who have returned summarize the impressions and reluctantly return to the usual life course. This is the period of the year when the retrospective of the the events back from New Year takes place as well as the creation of autumn actions. A bit lazy month is convenient for checking to do list, whether we have fulfilled our own expectations or not. The greatest advantage of this period is that, according to some natural inertia, everyone has more free time. We present to you in the following text what to do and where to go in Belgrade in August.


Ada Ciganlija celebrates its 60th birthday this year and in the celebrity mood this season, it offers never more content of activities adjusted to all generations. The Belgrade Sea is the most attractive location that tens of thousands of people visit every day. Swimming in a lake, that is regularly cleaned and maintained, relaxation in one of the many bars and restaurants, extreme water sports, sports fields and much more, every day fill the time of the "keepers" of the city that do not leave the capital during the travelling season. Numerous swimming pools in Belgrade have been tested for high temperature enjoyment. The city pools attract many visitors with affordable prices, and since this year, almost every one has been equipped with deck chairs and parasols, so the comfort issue is solved. Private pools also offer a rich catering offer within the complex, so, who loves the concept of "all in one place", let him better hurry and take the best position.

IKEA is finally opening in Belgrade. The first department store in Serbia opens on 10th August, exactly at 10 o'clock. A small number of Belgraders know that IKEA is actually returning to Belgrade because the first store opened in Novi Beograd (New Belgrade) in 1991. The new department store is the jubilee 400th in the world chain, it will have 33.000 square meters and an assortment of 9.500 products.

We already know how sugar is not desirable in nutrition, but high temperatures are a perfect argument to break the rules and let ourselves go with the flow. Put sunglasses on, dress lightly and head for the adventure, explore the rich variety of flavors offered by city pastry shops and find a new favorite one. The summer season has also brought new bars that follow world-class trends with their offer. Modern interiors, attractive locations and innovative food & beverage offerings are quite sufficient reasons to arrange socializing with a loved one and friends.

An inevitable part of Belgrade, that is talked about with smile and written about in world magazines, is the nightlife. The absolute winner in the entire region for the best clubbing brings numerous famous names from the world of music and entertainment this summer. The iconic boat-based clubs celebrated the beginning of the season with a rich programme and they are competing for the title of the best place for fun on the river. In August, the most famous clubs in the city center bring names from the global top list of the best DJs, who in a busy schedule of performances from Ibiza through the biggest festivals managed to come to Belgrade to make incredible parties.


Culture and art do not rest in August. The whole month is in the sign of the exhibitions in many galleries, and a large number of museums regularly works and invites all interested to visit an interesting, yet educational programme. Festivals and events that promote culture and cultural heritage with a rich accompanying programme, creative workshops and concerts are the events that welcome everyone and break down the prejudices that such events are boring.
