Early at dawn, while the stove quietly crackles, mothers' hands knead Christmas bread on a white flour table. Having crossed themselves over the dough, the mother hides the family gold coin - a pledge of health, harmony and harvest in the coming year. The whole family gathers around the table to break the bread, and while the children are most excited to be the ones to pull out the gold coin, the older members of the household welcome Christmas with peace of mind, knowing that the most beautiful memories are born in these moments.
Unfortunately, in many homes the festive picture is completely different. The stove is cold, there is too little flour, and on the table, instead of bread, the children break yesterday's, stale bread. Instead of children's cries, the wind creaks through the damaged windows and blows out the weak candle.
Donate a gold coin of hope for Christmas Eve!Donate a gold coin of hope for Christmas Eve!
Faithful to the idea that no child should have to wait for the holidays in such conditions, in this year's Christmas campaign we are turning every donation into a gold coin of hope that will illuminate homes and bring holiday joy.
In practice, this means concrete help - a warm room instead of cold walls, a dry roof instead of a bucket under the ceiling, draft-free carpentry, a stove that heats, rooms equipped with beds, wardrobes and desks.
So that the homes we reach smell of Christmas Eve and children's smiles finally shine!
The humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs calls on all people of good hearts to symbolically make a big Christmas cake with their donations for Andđela, Aleksandar, Marija Magdalena, Marko, Iskra and hundreds of other vulnerable children throughout the Balkans!
May each of us knead our own grain of goodness as a living testimony to Christ's love and mercy!
