Film screening as part of the "Hermitage Days in Serbia 2025" event
Catherine wanted to become the Russian empress, but she had to wait 16 years for her wish to come true. During the years of waiting, she realized that leading an empire actually meant serving that country, investing efforts in it every day. During her reign, the capital, St. Petersburg, shone in full glory, science and art flourished, and great Russian literature began to be created.
She followed in the footsteps of Peter the Great - she expanded the borders of the empire, annexed Crimea, and consolidated Russia's status as a world power. Like Peter the Great, she was also called the Great.
After the premiere, there will be a discussion about the film and creative meetings with the director, artistic director of the "Russia" film series, Andrei Kravchuk.
