"Empresses. Costumes from Films" is a visual story about the Russian monarchy presented through the clothing of 18th-century rulers. A story that gives you the opportunity to peek into the world of the empire through a gallery of characters, fabrics and silhouettes, more precisely, the costumes of famous women, rulers of that time. The exhibition is part of the creative laboratory of the "Gazprom - Friends of St. Petersburg" project.
Ten film costumes will be presented at the exhibition. The attention of visitors will certainly be "stolen" by the ceremonial dress of Catherine Alekseevna, the first Russian empress and wife of Peter the Great. The dress is made of snow-white brocade and decorated with gold embroidery.
During the exhibition, decorative element workshops will be organized, which will be held by one of the greatest Russian costume designers, Katarina Shapkayts, winner of the prestigious "Nika" and "Golden Eagle" awards, and holder of the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
