The thematic retrospective of artist Tanja Ostojic is conceived around aspects of materiality in her decades-long, socially engaged, and feminist-oriented practice, ranging from sculpture and performance to the exploration of textiles and natural materials.
The exhibition is structured into thematic sections developed around three of the artist's works: "Personal Space," "Mis(s)placed Women?" and "Altered by Water." These include early sculptural experiments, performances using her own body as a medium, as well as research-activist and collaborative practices, alongside newer works focusing on the body as transformative matter.
Works in various media are unified through questions regarding contemporary society and the position of women and communities within systems that reproduce and normalize gender, class, and racial forms of discrimination and exploitation.
