Vidovdan - A National Holiday
A new exhibition at the Historical Museum of Serbia

"Vidovdan - A National Holiday" aims to comprehensively showcase the establishment of Vidovdan as a national holiday in 1889 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, its deep connection to the cult of Holy Prince Lazar and the Kosovo Covenant, as well as the way it was observed until 1945, when it was removed from the calendar of national holidays.
The author of the exhibition concept is museum counselor Vladimir Merenik, with co-authors Sladjana Bojkovic, museum counselor, Dr. Katarina Mitrovic, museum counselor, and Izabela Martinov Tomovic, senior curator, while the collaborators include Dr. Lidija Bogdanovic, senior curator, Ana Cuk Dragomirovic, museum counselor, Boris Markovic, senior curator, Nikola Milikic, senior curator, and Srdjan Beljic, curator.
