The 62th International Belgrade Book Fair takes place from 22nd to 29th October. Every day from 10:00, more than 450 domestic and foreign publishers will be presented to the visitors in the five halls of the fair. At the same time, the Education and Training Fair and Information, Communication and Marketing "Media Market" Fair take place. The ticket is 250 RSD, and for children up to 7 years the entry is free.


Honorary guests are Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The contemporary literature of the German speaking area is the theme of the Book Fair 2017, which will be opened by Karl-Markus Gauß, a writer and publicist from Austria. Programme 4 countries 1 language will present about 1,000 titles, 350 premieres, a conversation with the Nobel Prize winner Herta Müller and other prominent authors. In addition to honorary guests, publishers from Angola, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, Iran, Japan, Canada, China, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Croatia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates are also participating.

The accompanying programme includes thematic exhibitions, promotional programmes, debates and celebrations of significant historical anniversaries - 800 years since the crowning of Stefan Prvovencani, 250 years of Filip Visnjic, 170 years of the Gorski vijenac (The Mountain Wreath), 150 years since the death of Charles Baudelaire, 125 years of Ivo Andric, memories of the poetry victims of the Great war - 100 years since the death of Dis and Bojic, 50 years since the first edition of the novels One Hundred Years of Solitude and Dervis i smrt (Death and the Dervish) and decade without Nikola Milosevic and Stevan Raickovic.

Existing programmes such as Guests in focus, Youth Creativity Festival, Exhibitors, Word Arena and others, well known to the audience who do not miss this event, have been enriched with this year's City Guest Programme which represents one city from Serbia (this year, Novi Sad is selected), its publishers and cultural-social life and Festival at the fair - Literature of the European Mediterranean. The children's programme is marking 120 years since the birth of Aleksandar Vuco and presents rich educational and fun content for the youngest. Traditionally, prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Publisher of the year, Publishing project of the year, Children's book of the year, Award for publisher from diaspora in Serbian language, Special recognition for contribution in the field of science, Special recognition for the publisher, book or comics, Bogdan Krsic Prize for the most beautiful book, the Best children's book Award, the Special Award for a young designer and the Dositej Obradovic Award, which is awarded to a foreign publisher for a continuous contribution to the publication and promotion of Serbian literature.
