The week ahead brings popular great art and educational events

After 10 years of renovation, the Museum of Contemporary Art is finally starting to work, and the beginning of the opening ceremony, which will last for 7 days and 7 nights, is scheduled for 20th October. The Historical Exhibition Sekvence represents a great setting that symbolically marks the beginning of the new era of the museum and the main goal is to reaffirm the existing collections through a new framework for acquaintance and recognition of art. In addition to the big setting, the organizers have prepared a very rich accompanying programme - the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will hold several concerts, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance performs with dancers from Serbia, on the plateau in front of the museum jazz quartet Four Plus will play, DJs Boban Petroni and Sonja Pavlica will perform as well, and various activities are organized for the youngest. A special feature will be a multimedia programme that will last 168 hours without interruption.


The 62nd International Belgrade Book Fair is organized from 22nd to 29th October. The 2017 edition will be focused on contemporary literature from the German speaking area. Honorary guests are Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria. One of the leading events in this part of Europe announces numerous premieres, thematic exhibitions, talks with writers, marking important anniversaries of Serbian history and culture, as well as the festival of literature in the European Mediterranean. A comprehensive programme will be organized for the youngest readers, numerous new books for education and entertainment, and more. In the five halls of the Belgrade Fair, more than 450 domestic and foreign exhibitors will be presented to the audience.
