Every year, the Serbian Orthodox Church marks the 19th August as the Transfiguration of the Lord. This day is celebrated as the moment when for the first time Christ's divine nature was made visible. According to an even older belief, prehistoric, the transformation is in nature, i.e. the summer transforms into the autumn. It is time to start harvesting grapes, and on that very day people do not swim in a river, lake or sea. The believers fast because it is Dormition Fast period. Liturgies are served in churches and holy grapes are given to people. According to the customs, people should eat this fruit only from the Transfiguration.

According to the international calendar of significant days, 19th August is the World Helicopter Day. Of course, it will be celebrated in Belgrade on the heliport in Dobanovci on 19th August, at 12:00. The event is organized by "Balkan Helicopters" and it represents the culture of helicopter flying and its wide application in rescue missions, fire fighting from air, passenger and medical transport. On the Helicopter Day, all visitors will have the opportunity to try helicopter commands on the simulator, take a photo with the exposed copies, learn how to pack a parachute and repair a helicopter. Training and socializing with pilots are not a daily occurrence. Take advantage of the world holiday for a different rhythm of the Sunday afternoon.
