If you are interested in what the people of Serbia used to do in the past, the Ethnographic Museum is the place to learn about history. On Thursday, 20th September, at 20:00, the exhibition "To smo mi - narodna zanimanja u Srbiji, Nazrni pa se vrni" (That is us - national occupations in Serbia), prepared by the authors Dusica Zivkovic, Milos Matic, Jelena Tesic and Marko Stojanovic, opens. On the same day, the Day of the Ethnographic Museum is celebrated. Two good reasons to walk to the city center and find out what the Serbs used to do.

After much harder jobs than these today, customs used to say that everyone should recover from work with a rich feast. How people in Serbia used to welcome their guests, you will find out at the manifestation "Festival srpske trpeze". On Saturday, 22nd September, from 11:00 to 21:00, the Belgrade Fortress is the venue of a debut gastronomic, cultural, artistic and educational event. A very comprehensive programme will present the exhibitors of Serbian specialties, what kind of dishes used to be used in the medieval period and how the monastic table used to look like. Through association with producers, visitors will find out everything about slava cake, celebration bread, but also honey, wine and brandy. With authentic Serbian music and folklore, experienced chefs will present tastes from all over Serbia. Also, you will have a unique opportunity to see the setting of the Serbian wedding in the Middle Ages.

On the same day, 22nd September, from 20:00, the Kolo ensemble will hold a concert at the Culture Center "Vlada Divljan". A world-famous ensemble representing folk dances and songs from Serbia this year marks a significant jubilee - 70 years of existence. There is no place on the planet where they did not show the best from Serbia. Over five thousand concerts were recorded in their biography. Love for their country and fostering tradition all over the world is what Kolo has been doing for decades. Put off other plans for Saturday night. Come, watch, dance and meet Serbia to love it even more.
