The Tourist Organization of Belgrade and the Association of Skadarlija Lovers invite all lovers and authentic bohemian life to a special event - Skadarlija bohemianism on Wednesday, 25th October from 19:00. Expect a unique celebration of the inimitable spirit of Belgrade's famous Skadarlija, which has been synonymous with bohemian life in Belgrade for more than a century.
The doyens of folk music, Danka Stojicevic and Ceda Markovic, will greet the guests with a performance of well-known songs, and then Nikola Zekic, the young soloist of the band Legends, will perform. Vjera Mujovic, actress of the National Theater in Belgrade, is participating in the program, and among the guests will be actor Nebojsa Dugalic.
The president of the Association of Skadarlija Lovers, Vjera Mujovic, said: "The association of Skadarlija Lovers, which gathers artists, singers, painters, poets, actors, taverns and their workers, other activities of Skadarlija, as well as all those who want to work to preserve the tradition of this street, tries to preserves the bohemian spirit of Skadarlija".
The Tourist Organization of Belgrade and the Association of Skadarlija Lovers annually award the Skadarlijski boem (Skadarlija bohemian) award, which in previous years was won by Petar Bozovic (actor), Rade Radivojevic (composer) and actress Ljiljana Stjepanovic. This year's award winner will be Svetislav Pesic, a famous basketball coach.
