This event is finished.

Belgrade is one of the European capitals where, after the persecution from Spain, one of the most developed Sephardic communities in Europe found refuge. The life of that community, historical stories and personal confessions, as well as their rich heritage, which represents an important part of the history of Belgrade, form the backbone of the "Sephardic Belgrade" tour.

The Cervantes Institute in Belgrade, in the context of its activity to spread the Spanish language and culture in the Spanish language, developed this route based on the testimony of members of the Jewish community, as well as data collected from Jewish institutions, as well as from the archives of other Serbian institutions. The route consists of 28 locations throughout Belgrade that are important for the history and heritage of the Sephardic community.
