The Spring Jazz Festival takes place in two locations, clubs Jazz garden and Savamala from 28th to 30th of April. For the second year in a row the event dedicated to jazz music celebrates International Jazz Day on 30th of April. On the initiative of a masterful pianist and composer Herbie Hanckok, UNESCO established the last day of April as the International Jazz Day in 2012.

Belgrade Spring Jazz is organised with the ambition to put jazz music into the center of downtown happenings, to support local jazz stage and to spread the culture jazz represents. According to previously mentioned, concerts organised at many locations represent the unique concept of promotion. During the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy music of the most talented jazz musicians.

International Jazz Day has an aim to point out the role of jazz music in society and to connect communities, institutions, artists and academics worldwide who live and learn in style of jazz, its beginnings and influence in the future. Jazz symbolizes peace and intercultural dialogue. It is an art form that respects diversity, human rights, dignity and freedom.

This year`s host city is Havana. Celebrating jazz has already started on 24th of April and besides the concerts, there are workshops and a variety of activities carried out in schools, culture centers, jazz clubs and parks throughout Cuba.

Belgrade celebrates International Jazz Day with concert of Irena Blagojevic in Dom Omladine and with a "Jazz a Vue 1927-2017" programme organized by Jazz center and Mihailo Misa Blam club.
