Big dreams - huge success. He probably dreamed of becoming a world-famous DJ back in 1994 when he had his first high school performance. Of course, he was not sure he would succeed. Not even when he, during his student life, founded the band "Shana" with which he released four albums. He did everything to make it like that. And he did it. Like no other fellow countrymen did. Ever.

From the school choir to the biggest music festivals. It all began with a musical keyboard. Two decades of searching, research, faculty and practical learning and creation have done its own - he spends the whole summer in Ibiza as a host to one of the most visited parties on the island, located at the Hi club. He performs at every point of the universe because of his music.

He had the first residency at the "Voodoo Lounge" club in 2001. Only two years later, he was elected representative of the South African DJ scene directed by "Red Bull Music Academy". Soon, he started to receive prizes and awards for his music. So far, he has received nearly 20 awards. He set Guinness World Record in 2010 when he played music for as many as 60 hours without interruption.

The songs that brought him to the top are We Dance Again, Superman, Come with Me, Rock My World, Deep in the Bottom, Your Eyes, Afraid of The Dark, Trip to Lyon, Stuck in your love, Izizwe, Kwanele, Inseparable, I Know What’s On your Mind, Love on fire, Music is the answer, Someday, Angelina, I Have Faith and others. Well known to clubbers and fans of dance music.

The debut album "Black Coffee" was released in 2005. Two years later, "Have Another One". The third studio edition "Home Brewed" in 2009 showed that it was not just luck. Nobody could say that this man is not amazing. The "Africa Rising" concert at the "Moses Mabhida" stadium in his hometown, Durban, where he performed alongside with the orchestra with 24 members and numerous artists in 2012, has been put on a DVD so a great number of gold and platinum albums continued.

He has collaborated with everyone from the music universe. The reason is simple. He takes into consideration absolutely all the music from around the world. The genres that are closest to him and that he creates are house, dance, lounge and nu-jazz. For more than a decade, he has been owner of the label "Soulistic Music".

The real name of DJ and producer who has won the world as Black Coffee is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo. He was born on 11th March, 1976 in Durban, South Africa. In May 2011, he married Enhle Mbali. They have two kids. A compulsory item in his biography is the fact that in 1990 he suffered a car accident when his left arm was damaged. Some would give up and surrender. He did not. It is not polite to look at somebody else's wallet, but the black diamond is "worth" two million dollars.
