The Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia informs the public that blood supply has been drastically reduced. All blood types are missing. Currently, one-day supply of blood is available, and that is why the Institute is making an urgent appeal for voluntary blood donation throughout the country.

Summer is the period of the year when blood supply is at a minimum both due to annual vacations and high temperatures. Every week, in order to meet the blood needs of all health institutions that the Institute for Blood Transfusion supplies, it is necessary to collect 1,500 units of blood. In recent weeks, the collection has been difficult and significantly less, about 1,000 units of blood have been collected.

We ask our fellow citizens, if they feel well and are between the ages of 18 and 65, not to delay donating blood and help ensure more stable blood supply for the treatment of all sick and injured patients for whom blood is an irreplaceable medicine, so that operative programs are not delayed.

The Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia at 39 Svetog Save Street is open on weekdays from 07:00 to 19:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 15:00.
