The grand finale of the caravan Izadji mi na teglu

The grand finale of the tenth season of the largest gastronomic caravan in the Balkans "Izadji mi na teglu" will be held at Ada Ciganlija on Saturday, 7th October starting at 11:00.

"Stone Town" will be the scene where 30 competing teams from all over Serbia will bring out the big guns - their wooden spoons and try to win the title of kings of ajvar. For six weeks, the caravan has visited 15 cities from the north to the south of Serbia, so that over 150 teams have participated in the competition so far. The champions and vice-champions of the city's qualifying competitions will once again step up and show who owns the best recipe for preparing ajvar for the year 2023.

All participants, according to the already established custom, will present the place and the area they come from in an authentic way, emphasizing tradition, nurturing local customs and gastronomic specialties, so visitors can expect tastings of other gourmet foods of the hard-working hosts, in addition to the best ajvar. In addition to the competitive part, participants and visitors can expect a music and entertainment program throughout the day, and fun prize games will also be organized.

At 18:00, the expert jury will announce the winners who will receive valuable prizes in addition to the title. In the past nine editions of the national competition, teams from Leskovac, Kovacica, Bela Palanka, Kanjiza, Brus, Kursumlija, Dimitrovgrad, Vladicin Han and Kikinda won the championship title, which proves that there are masters of "Serbian caviar" all over our country.

This year's caravan season was also realized under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, the local governments of the participating cities, as well as numerous sponsors whose support makes the project more successful year after year.
