New month in the calendar represents very interesting manifestations on the map of Belgrade

The 9th Belgrade Tango Encuentro is organized at the Belgrade Fair and in Theater 78 from 1st to 7th May. For this meeting, dance workshops are organized all day and night, led by the most famous Argentine tango dancers, and tango lovers will show their dance knowledge on the big milonga dance parties. Announced tango stars include Carlitos Espinoza, Noelia Hurtado, Ivan Terrazas, Sara Grdan, Fausto Carpino, Stephanie Fesneau and others.


In the SKC on 5th May from 20:00, the line up of the programme "Jazz & Soul" are Roy Young from Jamaica and Oleg Kireyev from Russia. They are together for the first time on stage in Belgrade. Black vocal and perfect saxophonist will take you through a repertoire that starts with jazz mainstream, soul, blues and funk, and ends who knows where. Warm up with jazz standards is announced so on the programme there are Hoochie Coochie Man, Hit The Road Jack, My Way, What a Wonderful World, I Feel Good... Young is a well-known jazz musician who has built his career at concerts with legends like Marvin Gaye, James Brown and Johnny Michael. Kireyev won over America with his version of ethno jazz and won the Grammy nomination in 2008.

The Great Hall of the Sava Center will host the dance show of Una Saga Serbica troupe called "Igra Bogova" on 5th May from 20:00. This professional dancing ensemble is reviving the original Balkan folklore through music, costumes, scenography and special effects. Thirty dancers and soloists will tell you a story from a folk tradition featuring various deities and mythical creatures that were once believed in the Balkans. Dance of the gods, besides the extraordinary ensemble, will be performed by the soloists Natasa Nenadic and Ivan Mileusnic through the music of Aleksandar Lokner and Goran Kovacic with choreography of Ana and Svetozar Krstic.
