The biggest American rock band, The Killers, is coming to Novi Sad at Petrovaradin Fortress on 5th July. "Day 0" is an event like Get EXITed when Robbie Williams made great spectacle on Usce in front of 33.000 people two years ago. Proud owners of album number 1 and winners of nine prestigious awards for the best world rock band are coming to Exit Festival within an exclusive tour that will visit only ten countries and among those are: America, Great Britain, Spain and Serbia.
The Killers are a rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2001 by members Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards) and Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals). Mark Stoermer (bass, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. (drums, percussion) would complete the current line-up of the band in 2002. Their first album "Hot Fuss" was released in 2004 and it became one of the best-selling releases of the decade and one of the greatest debut albums according to the Rolling Stone magazine. The following three releases were successful as well.
Before they formed the band, guys had had completely different jobs. Flowers gave up college and worked as a bellboy in a hotel. Keuning is from Pella, Iowa. He left his birth town and university in 2000 when he moved to Las Vegas and worked as a hat seller. Stoermer delivered medical supplies and studied philosophy at Nevada University in Las Vegas. Vannucci was percussion student at the same university and worked as a photographer in a chapel. The Killers is a band famous for charity work and activism. It is one of the main participants in global anti-human trafficking campaign, MTV EXIT started at Exit Festival in 2004.
Exit Festival 2017 takes place from 5th to 9th July celebrating 50th anniversary of famous "Summer of Love 1967" when the revolutionary Peace Movement began and changed the world forever fighting for peace, freedom of speech, human rights and social, racial and gender equality. Exit, founded from fight for social changes, as a modern music festival wants to honour ideas that created first music events in the 60`s like Woodstock, Monterey and many others and wants to get the messages of that movement across to the world that need them more than ever.
"Day 0" is the beginning of Exit Summer of Love Festival. Unlike the following four days and nights, for "Day 0" only space around main stage is open, while other stages and zones throughout the Fortress will not be available. And only during this day, the fan pit zone will be set up, what is not characteristic to regular days of the Festival.
