The 52th Bitef is being held at several locations in the city from 13th to 22nd September. Belgrade International Theater Festival 2018 is being realized under the title "World Without Us". The main programme of this year's edition includes plays from Serbia, Israel, Belgium, Switzerland, Estonia, Germany, France and Slovenia. The accompanying programme of this cultural and artistic event of great importance is equally high quality. Definitely, the capital of Serbia becomes the world capital of the theater in September.
The ceremony opening is at the Sava Center on 13th September at 17:00. The director from Slovenia, Dragan Zivadinov, is the author of the play "ODILO. OBSCURATION. ORATORIO." which will introduce the audience to Bitef 2018. This one, like the rest of the plays, with its content and view of reality absolutely corresponds to the selection of the festival that insists on artistic visions and phenomena in modern theater. Furthermore, the concept is a radical and brave approach to the flows of modern society.
On the fifteenth day of September, at 20:00 in the National Theater, the author Maja Pelevic, the only one from Serbia who took the place in the programme scheme, will present the play "BOLLYWOOD". The ingenious trash musical will present a real story about the state of the Serbian society at the moment. With the play "REQUIEM FOR L.", directed by Alain Platel, scheduled for 22nd September from 20:00 again at the Sava Center, the end of this year's Bitef will be marked.
