European Heritage Days 2023 in Belgrade is an indispensable part of the big event organized by the Council of Europe and the European Commission, through which culture, heritage, traditions and customs are promoted every September in the old continent. Every year with the same desire and every time with a different inspiration. The capital of Serbia has been organizing a spectacular program for more than two decades with the aim of showing individuals and society the best of its rich history. This year's "Living Heritage" focuses on the knowledge, skills and practices that are passed down from generation to generation in the people of Serbia, and which have their own value even in contemporary trends.

The official opening on Friday, 15th September from 19:00 at the Home of the Army of Serbia will bring the exhibition "Dedication to Belgrade Education" of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade, authored by Ljubica Radovanovic. The art historian has prepared an exhibition where the audience will witness the sublimation of school buildings under the auspices of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments and the presentation of these examples of immovable cultural heritage to their current users - students. It is expected most of the students with their teachers and professors who attended classes in these facilities to attend the official opening and by sharing their own memories through written and photographic works to beautify the very beginning of the great European event.

Sightseeing with expert guides, presentations, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, performances, competitions, video projections, programs for children, film projections and much more will be on the program for this year, which will be implemented throughout the city of Belgrade. The complete program is completely free. Due to the limited number of places, applications are required for certain programs. All information and applications for attending the program can be obtained at the Tourist Information Center.

The Days of European Heritage event in Belgrade is organized by the Secretariat for the Economy - Section for Tourism Affairs, other city secretariats of Belgrade, city municipalities, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, the Institute for the Protection of Monuments of the City of Belgrade, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, cultural institutions and the direct organizers of the program.
