Skadarlija's Hat Festival 2018 (Skadarlijska sesirijada) is held on Saturday, 18th August. The programme of the 6th Hat Festival starts at 14:00, and until the late evening hours, visitors will be entertained by musicians, writers, actors and famous Skadarlija's musician Bojan Hlisc.
Lady's Hat, Children's Hat, The Most Beautiful Couple of Hats and Ethno Hat are the categories all interested can apply to. Registration of the competitors is from 14:00 to 17:00 in the house of Djura Jaksic. An hour later, on the stage in front of the Djura's house, the opening ceremony follows. The jury who will decide on the best hat in each category consists of three members - president of the jury, Vjera Mujovic, writer Lara Larisa Brankov and writer from Australia Goran Poletan.
The music programme will take you right to the past. The spirit of authentic bohemia through the music notes will be presented by Biljana Petkovic, Vesna Dimic, Dejan Vozlic, Vojislav Djukic Koki, Gledanice Choir, Igor Dunjic, Sladjana Busic and Skadarlijski momci. Actors Milan Milosavljevic, Vesna Pastrovic, Ljiljana Jaksic and Milan Tubic will conjure up famous artists who used to come to Skladarlija on a daily basis. Branislav Nusic, Zanka Stokic, Skadarlijska dama (Skadarlija Lady) and Djura Jaksic will again take a walk down the cobblestones. The selected poetry will be read by Goran Poletan, Dragisa Simic and members of the literary club Skadarlijska boemija. Programme presenters are Misa Ciric and Nevena Sarcevic.
Sesirijada will be held throughout the whole Skadarlija. The hat show with special guests and entertainers ends with a lottery and awarding prizes. Come to feel the spirit of the old Skadarlija, which is still so much talked about nowadays. Bohemian district is not only an attractive city location for tourists. It is a special part of the city where all lovers of true Bohemian life are welcome.
