Fashion festival that will present the biggest trends takes place in Belgrade and Novi Sad

Serbian Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2017/18 will be held from 20th to 27th November. The local fashion show is the fifth largest fashion week in Europe that gathered 2,500 people at the first festival four years ago, and the last event was attended by even 30,000 visitors.


The opening ceremony is scheduled for Monday, 20th November from 10:00 to 13:00 in the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. The conference "Fashion Branding - The importance of Fashion in Branding Countries and Tourist Destinations" will be held in Small Hall and Maja Gojkovic (President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia) and Svetlana Horvat (President of the National Chamber of Fashion of Serbia and Serbian Fashion Week) will open the conference. The panel discussion titled "Branding by Fashion & Art" will be led by Donald Potard, former general manager of the "Jean Paul Gaultier" fashion house and head professor of Fashion Design Department at the "Paris College of Art" University, then William Arlotti, a professional fashion consultant and owner of the media house "House off" from France, Tijana Palkovljevic, director of the Gallery of Matica srpska and Robert Coban, president of the "Color Press Group".

The panel discussion "Importance of fashion industry for attracting tourists and investments" brings together experts who will discuss this topic and they are: Marija Labovic, Branislav Knezevic, Dr. Biljana Chronos Krasavac and Emerick Francois, artistic director of Fashion Show in Paris and Berlin. The exhibition "Art as an inspiration" will be set up in the Central Hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and will feature ten reproductions of images from the Gallery of Matica srpska. The works of renowned local painters will be exhibited along with creations of fashion designers who found inspiration in these works.

The national fashion week brings the latest trends for this season, and the fashion show will be held in Novi Sad. More than 60 designers from Serbia and around the world will present their collections. Emerick Francois, Erik Rosete, Maarten van Mulken and Cyril Mirat are just some of the creators who will be guests in Serbia, while the vision of the best dress combinations with the signature "Made in Serbia" will be presented by Bata Spasjevic, Lepa Couture, Bosko Jakovljevic, Marija Sabic, Mladen Milivojevic Baron, Suzana Peric and many others.


Special guest is Patrizia Gucci who will present her book on 26th November at 17:00. A member of the biggest fashion empire from Italy will sign her work and talk to interested ones. The accompanying programme consists of numerous interesting activities and quality seminars where eminent participants will hold lectures in the field of fashion industry, and the biggest party "Wet Dreams 2017 - Catwalk" has been announced.

The award ceremony of the "Serbia Fashion Awards" will take place in the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade on 27th November at 19:00 and this event will mark the end of fashion festival in Serbia.
